Educational Field Trip

Students learn about local ecosystems and wilderness skills

Trip Details

An educational field trip for schools in the greater Vancouver area. Students will learn about local ecosystems, plants, and animals in an interactive and engaging way. There is also the option for students to learn about basic survival skills, emergency structure building, and different wilderness guiding opportunities as a career path. I work with teachers to facilitate a unique learning experience that aligns with the student's current curriculum. This is a perfect trip for Biology, Environmental Science, and Outdoor Education classes! With my graduation from UBC in Environmental Sciences and recent work experience, I can engage with students educationally and interactively in the unique learning environment of our local coastal temperate rainforests. The skills and information they will learn can be used both recreationally, with friends and family, or for potential career development. My current career in professional wilderness guiding is also a fun and exciting career path many kids do not realize is an option and I hope to inspire those interested in making a living outdoors to follow their dreams and realize their full potential. These trips can be held in natural areas within walking distance from schools or at larger parks that would require student transport. Minimum age: grade 6 and higher Maximum class capacity: 35 students Price: $25/student (minimum 10 students) Time: trips range from 1.5-3 hours
